About this occupation

Cyber security professionals protect organisations' systems and data, covering security analysis, testing and incident response. SOC 2020 introduced this as a separate code for the first time.

Because the category is relatively new, some estimates carry wider uncertainty, and ONS has suppressed the 90th percentile. Finance, defence and government employers are prominent in this field.
