Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how CheckMyPayRate ("the service") handles information when you visit the site and use the salary calculator.

Calculator inputs and personal information

Most calculators run entirely in your browser, and their salary inputs are not sent to our servers or stored in a database. The US Net Salary Calculator is the exception: it sends the annual gross income, selected state, filing status and stated household assumptions through our server to PolicyEngine for the requested tax calculation. We do not send your name, email address or browser IP address to PolicyEngine; calculation results may remain in a temporary server-memory cache for up to six hours. The service has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or payment details.

Preferences stored on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage for the selected language, light or dark theme, the preference-notice choice and, after you interact with the calculator, your most recent calculation. These values stay on your device, are not transmitted to us, and can be removed by clearing this site's browser data.

Public statistics

The figures used by the tools come from public sources including the OECD, Eurostat and the World Bank. The US Net Salary Calculator uses PolicyEngine’s tax model. Source data retrieved by the service contains no personal information about you.

Advertising and cookies

The site includes a Google AdSense account-verification meta tag and a public ads.txt record for publisher approval. It does not currently load the AdSense advertising script or display live ad units to visitors. If ads are activated later, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to process information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, and interactions with ads for ad delivery, measurement and, where you consent, personalisation. Any consent required in your region will be collected through a Google-certified consent management platform before advertising cookies are used.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Cookie consent and GDPR

The current preference notice stores your selection only on your device. It does not activate Google advertising and is not presented as a Google-certified consent management platform. Lovable’s privacy-focused visitor analytics runs independently of this preference and is described below.

You can change the stored preference at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Language, theme and recent calculator choices are never used for advertising.

Before advertising is enabled for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform will be configured where required.

Personalised advertising and how to opt out

No personalised advertising is currently served. If advertising is enabled later, this section will be updated with the available consent and opt-out controls.

Analytics and technologies used

We do not use Google Analytics, social media pixels, advertising cookies or profiling tools. Lovable’s built-in visitor analytics is enabled on the published site and provides aggregated visits, page views, views per visit, session duration, bounce rate, traffic sources, popular pages, device type and visitor country inferred from the browser’s time zone. According to Lovable, it does not retain raw identifiers, link visits to an account or build profiles that follow a person across separate visits. Browser local storage is also used for language, theme, preference-notice choice and the latest calculation. The hosting infrastructure may separately process technical request data such as an IP address, timestamp and requested page for security and reliability.

We also use Umami Cloud (EU data region) to collect aggregated visit and usage statistics. Umami does not use cookies and does not track you across sites; its data is aggregated, not personalised. It records page views and four events — use of the calculator, selection of a country, selection of a language and clicks on affiliate links — together with only non-personal metadata such as the country, sector, language or link involved. Your salary inputs are never sent to Umami, and no other personal information is collected.

If you choose “Save preferences” and the home page has no URL parameters, the browser sends a request to ipapi.co to determine an approximate country and preselect it. The request is not made after “Essential only”. That provider processes your IP address under its privacy policy (https://ipapi.co/privacy/); we do not store the response and no calculator input is transmitted.

Your rights (GDPR)

The site builds no user profiles and links no data to your identity, yet you retain the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. For any request, write to us through the Contact page.

Your choices

You are in control of the little data this site touches: clearing your browser's site data removes the language and theme preferences stored on your device. If you have questions about this policy, contact the site operator.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The current version takes effect when it is published on this page.
